DCTA bus services were not impacted by labor shortages on Monday, January 28th.
First Transit, DCTA’s contract operator, and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) recently reached an agreement. First Transit is contracted to manage the operations of DCTA buses.
“We are pleased that First Transit and ATU were able to reach an agreement and not impact service to the customer,” stated Jarod Varner, Vice President of Transit Operations. “This cooperative effort demonstrates that we all are putting DCTA customers first.”
DCTA provides fixed-route, demand response and paratransit bus services to the cities of Lewisville and Denton and demand-response service to the city of Highland Village. DCTA carries over 2.5 million passengers a year on its bus services.
