The courthouse is one of Denton’s most iconic structures. It’s the centerpiece of the Downtown Square and is home to John B. Denton’s gravesite. Both Denton County, Texas and the city of Denton, Texas were named after John B. Denton, who was a Methodist minister, lawyer, soldier and political candidate. At this museum, you can learn about the legal and architectural history of the courthouse that once served as the seat for the Denton County government.
