The holidays are officially here and we can get you to all the holiday fun and cheer! Take DCTA to get to all fun festivals, musicals and community events throughout Denton County:
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Denton Holiday Lighting Festival (December 4) – The lights will shine bright on Friday, December 4 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the Denton Historic Courthouse Square. Festival attendees can enjoy photos with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides and great foods from local non-profits. In conjunction with the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival, DCTA is spreading holiday cheer with free rides on the A-train and buses to the event for passengers who say the secret code word “SLEIGH RIDE” to our operators the day of the festival. Denton Historic Courthouse Square is accessible by the A-train (short walk from the DDTC).
Lewisville’s Holiday Stroll (December 5) – Come enjoy Lewisville’s Holiday Stroll taking place on Saturday, December 5, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Old Town Lewisville. The event will offer a wide range of free family activities such as, pictures with Santa, gingerbread house contest judging, tree lighting, window display stroll, live music and entertainment, children’s crafts and more! Old Town Lewisville is accessible by Lewisville’s Connect Route 23
The 3 Redneck Tenors Presents “Christmas Spec-Tac-Yule-Ar” (December 16) – The 3 Redneck Tenors will perform their “Christmas Spec-Tac-Yule-Ar” at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater Wednesday, December 16 at 2 p.m. These redneck singing sensations will connect with every audience member while filling the audience with comedy and beautiful vocals. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (60 and older), $15 for children (12 and under) and are available at mclgrand.tix.com. The Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater is accessible by Lewisville’s Connect Route 23.
Breakfast with Santa (December 19) – Bring the kids to enjoy a nice breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Denton Civic Center. Enjoy visits and photos with Santa, holiday crafts, a bounce house and more after breakfast. Denton Civic Center is accessible by the A-train (short walk from the DDTC).
Reindeer Romp (December 11) – Enjoy the holidays with a 4.2-mile run or a 2.5-mile walk on Friday December 11 starting at 6:30 p.m. at South Lakes Park in Denton. The entry fee is $15 per run before the registration deadline on December 9 and $20 the day of the race. This includes a t-shirt, snacks, and beverages. In addition there will be a FREE HOLIDAY FUN ZONE for your kids as you participate in the run. Kid’s activities will be from 7-8:30 p.m. and will include a giant bounce house, face painting, and arts and crafts. South Lakes Park is accessible by Denton Connect Route 1.
