DCTA Bus Operators to Compete in 2016 Texas State Roadeo Competition
April 20, 2016
The Texas Transit Association (TTA) 2016 conference and roadeo competition is this weekend (Saturday, April 23) in Waco, TX, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be sending two of our bus operators – Juan Aguilar and Dan Skinner – to compete! This is the first time that DCTA has competed in TTA’s Texas State Roadeo competition. Juan will compete on the 35-foot Gillig buses and Dan will compete on the cutaway bus vehicles.
The Texas State Roadeo is a competition that consists of driving skills and maintenance disciplines. Bus operators and mechanics from transit systems across Texas will participate in separate competitions, which will showcase their skills in safe driving and vehicle maintenance. Winners of the state competition will qualify to compete in the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) national competition scheduled at the end of May.
