March has a lot to offer if you’re looking for some fun things to do. Whether it’s sampling food at the Taste of North Texas or seeing musicals such as Sister Act at the Music Theatre in Denton, DCTA can help! We’ve got you covered and can get you to all the fun events, shows and festivals throughout Denton County!
Sister Act the Musical (March 3 – 5)
The Music Theatre of Denton presents Sister Act the Musical. The musical can be viewed on Friday, March 3, to Sunday, March 5 at the Campus Theatre in Denton at 7:30 p.m. Sister Act is filled with jokes, gospel music and dancing that will give you a reason to rejoice! Single ticket prices are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens, $15 for students and $10 for children under 12 and can be purchased at www.musictheatreofdenton.com. Ride the A-train to the DDTC and take a quick walk to the historic Campus Theatre to watch this family-friendly show. (Note: DCTA does not operate services on Sunday)
Lewisville ISD Schools Student Artist Shows (March 4 – April 1)
Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) students will have the chance to display their art at the Lewisville High School and Elementary Student artist shows in March! Both shows will take place at the Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater with open galleries from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The High School student show will take place Saturday, March 4, to Saturday, March 18, and the Elementary Show takes place Saturday, March 25, to Saturday, April 1. Each show will display 120 to150 works of art, representing the visual arts programs of LISD. Event-goers can ride Lewisville Connect Route 22 to see all the art. Texas Story Telling Festival (March 9 – 12)
The Annual Story Telling Fest will take place on Thursday, March 9, through Sunday, March 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Denton Civic Center. This festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of storytelling as an oral tradition, a performing art, and an educational tool. There will be events such as storyteller concerts, music, Liar’s contest, story swaps, workshops and continuing education. Single concert tickets are $10 at the door. There will also be free events including ghost stories, sacred tales concert, a family concert and kid’s activities. Ride the A-train to the DDTC and take a brisk walk to the Denton Civic Center to hear all of the creative stories! For more information, visit www.tejasstorytelling.com. 2017 Great American Cleanup (March 25)
Keep Denton Beautiful invites the community to be a part of the effort to keep Denton clean, beautiful, and vibrant by volunteering for the Denton’s Great American Cleanup! The community will meet on Saturday, March 25, from 9 to11 a.m. at various locations around Denton. After the cleanup, there will be a volunteer appreciation party at the Denton Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ride Denton Connect Routes 6 or 7 to the Denton Civic Center to help keep Denton Beautiful! Taste of North Texas (March 30)
Do you wish you could sample food and drinks from restaurants all around Denton? The Denton Kiwanis Club’s most anticipated event, Taste of North Texas, will allow you to do just that! This event will take place at the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton on Thursday, March 30, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets prices $15 for adults (Ages 18 and older), $10 for ages seven to 17 and students and children ages six and under get in free.
