#AskDCTA: Getting to DFW Destinations & Transit Riding DCTA

Have you ever wondered about whether you can bring your pet on the A-train? Have you ever needed to know about long-term parking options at the DDTC? Now you can #AskDCTA! In our new monthly blog series, our customer service team will be answering frequently-asked rider questions to better engage with our riders and improve their experience when riding DCTA.

 

For the month of April, Tammy Motteler gave us some great insight on how to get to fun DFW destinations, transit agencies and airports riding DCTA. Check out her helpful tidbits below!

 

 

 

1. Where does the DCTA A-train meet up with DART Rail Line?

The A-train connects with DART at the Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton. From there, you can hop on the DART Green Line to continue into Dallas. Please keep in mind that DCTA does not meet all DART Green Line trains and that we don’t have a stop at the Frankford Station in Carrollton.

 

2. Does the DCTA A-train connect to the TRE Rail Line?

The A-train doesn’t directly connect with the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). However, riders can ride the A-train, transfer to the DART Green Line in Carrollton and then catch the TRE at the Victory Station in Dallas. Most likely, it will take you about an hour total for this trip.

 

3. How can I get to Fort Worth using DCTA services?

Now, you can hop on board the new North Texas Xpress bus service that connects Denton and Fort Worth communities. You can catch it in Denton at thepark and ride location by  Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Using the North Texas Xpress, the total trip will take about an hour and a half including stops along the way in Alliance. 4. What’s the best way to get to DFW International Airport from the DCTA A-train?

First, you take the A-train to the DART Trinity Mills station. From there, you will transfer to DART Green Line to Bachman Station. Next, you’ll transfer to the DART Orange Line to DFW Airport Station. If you’re flying American Airlines or only traveling with carry-on luggage, enter through Terminal A.  If not, take the Terminal Link airport shuttle bus to appropriate terminal. 5. How do I get to Dallas LoveField Airport from the DCTA A-train?

To get to the Dallas LoveField Airport, you can take the A-train to the DART Trinity Mills station, transfer to DART Green Line and go to the Inwood/Love Field Station. Love Link 524 will take you from the rail station straight to the airport terminal. To learn more, please visit our transit connections page.

 

6. How do I get to fun regional destinations in Dallas and Fort Worth by riding DCTA?

For just $10 you can purchase a regional pass which can get you around the DFW metroplex all day for fun and adventure with family and friends! Some of the cool places that you can go with a regional pass include:

– Dallas Zoo

– Klyde Warren Park

– American Airlines Center

– Fair Park

– Perot Museum
