Gobble ‘Til You Wobble: Fun Things to Do in November
November 1, 2018
Even though November is best known for turkey dinners, assortments of pies and Black Friday shopping, there is no shortage of exciting (and festive) events going on throughout the month. Whether you’re looking to get a head start on your holiday shopping, browse through some art or snap a picture with Santa, DCTA can help get you to where you want to be to celebrate the holidays how you want!
Merging Visions 2018: A Collaborative Exhibit of Art and Poetry
Art and poetry are alike in many ways: they tell a story, show expression and allow people to express their creativity in different ways. The Denton Poets’ Assembly and Visual Arts Society of Texas are bringing these two art forms together in the 2018 Merging Visions Exhibition: Art and Poetry, showcasing both visual art pieces inspired by poetry and poems inspired by visual art. Every day from November 1 through 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., ride Lewisville Connect Route 22 to the Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater (100 N. Charles Street) to view the different forms of collaboration. For more information, visit cityoflewisville.com/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/27792/668?curm=11&cury=2018.
Yoga on the Plaza in Old Town Lewisville
With all the events and treats that come with the holiday season, sometimes it’s hard to find a time to exercise! Attending this FREE yoga session at Wayne Ferguson Plaza every Wednesday in November for an hour gives you the opportunity to take a break and focus on you and your health! From 6 to 7 p.m., bring your mat and take part in Blue Anjou Studio’s weekly teacher-led yoga class for the community. You don’t need to be an expert to participate — just ride Lewisville Connect Route 22 to get in on the fun! For more information, visit blueanjou.com.
Denton Community Market
The Denton Community Market has been going strong since earlier this year, but the time has almost come to say goodbye – until next year! Take advantage of the last month of vendors and shops by discovering unique shops, bakeries, artists and more that are featured at the market every week. North Texas residents can come together for FREE every Saturday in November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop, sell and socialize. With dozens of opportunities to shop small and buy local, the market always has something new. Ride Denton Connect Routes 7 and 8 to get to find all the local gems! Ryan High School Craft Show
Handmade items make great, thoughtful gifts during the holiday season, but sometimes there isn’t enough time in the day to make them! The Ryan High School Craft Show gives you the opportunity to support local crafters, artists and more to find the perfect gifts, decorations and more for this upcoming holiday season! From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, at Ryan High School, join hundreds of crafters and shoppers to see the creativity Denton residents have to offer! Ride Denton Connect Route 3 to start shopping! Visit facebook.com/events/296453334505571/ for more information.
