Fun Things To Do in September!

Fall is officially here, so take advantage of the crisp weather and come out to event throughout Denton County this September including music, fun outdoor activities and several large craft and auto fairs.
MUSIC AND THEATER
Denton Blues Fest (Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20 at Quakertown Park) – love the blues? The Denton Black Chamber of Commerce is putting on a blues festival, with activities for the entire family! Quakertown Park is accessible by Denton Connect Routes 4 and 5.
Oaktopia Fest (Sept. 25-27 in Downtown Denton) – check out all of the art and music that the Oaktopia Fest has to offer! The music will be going at various downtown Denton locations all weekend long. Downtown Denton is accessible by Denton Connect Routes 6, 7 and 8.
Western Days Festival (Sept. 25-26 in Old Town Lewisville) – will showcase the history and spirit of the west with themed events, attractions, food, shopping, and entertainment. Three festival stages will feature live music with guest headliner Lynyrd Skynyrd. Event goers can ride the A-train to the Hebron or Old Town Station to catch a Durham bus or Lewisville Connect Route 23 to get to all the fun.
Evita (Sept. 25-Oct. 18 at the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre) – take in a showing of one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most well-known musicals – the story of Eva Peron from poverty to First Lady of Argentina. The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is accessible by Lewisville Connect Route 23.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Arts, Antiques and Autos Extravaganza (Saturday, Sept. 12 on the Denton Square) – come out and check out the classic cars, trucks and automobiles! There will also be a sidewalk art contest, antique appraisers and live music all day. The Denton Square is accessible by Denton Connect Routes 6, 7 and 8.
Lewisville Fall Market (Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Premier Events Center) – stock up on fall crafts at the Lewisville Fall Market and get ready to wow your friends and relatives with Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations. The Premier Events Center is accessible by Lewisville Connect Routes 21, 22 and 23.
