Guess what riders? Today is National Pizza Day! We all know pizza is an American favorite and a top choice comfort food. With so many different pizza establishments in the area, we’re bringing to your our favorite local pizza joints all accessible via our system to check out today!
Denton
Mellow Mushroom (Connect Routes 7 and 8)
Mellow Mushroom has out of this world pizza! This new age inspired establishment offers handcrafted pizzas with every side and dessert you can think of for your taste buds. Their funky, art-filled chain pizzeria features craft beer, calzones and creative stone-baked pizzas. Their brand expands beyond their pizza crusts as they have their own lifestyle apparel line if your taste buds fall in love with their food. A small pizza starts at $7.99.
Crooked Crust (Connect Routes 7 and 8)
Crooked Crust is a cozy little establishment nestled on Fry Street in Denton, right at the edge of the University of North Texas (UNT) campus. Also a newer establishment, a lot of their pizza is dipped in sauces like barbeque chicken or chicken bacon ranch. Since its National Pizza Day, they’re having a happy hour special from 4 pm to midnight. You can get ¼ a pizza and a drink for just $5.00!
TJ’s Pizza (Connect Routes 7 and 8)
TJ’s Pizza, Wings and Things has unique dishes if you’re looking for more than one taste in your mouth. Their shrimp and bacon toppings is just one of the many examples of the different toppings they use for pizza flavorings. They offer sub sandwiches and wings as part of their menu staples. Their prices start as low as $6.99.
Lewisville
Alfredo’s Pizza & Pasta (Connect Route 21)
If you’re looking for pizza, pasta, subs, salads and entrees then Alfredo’s is the place to be. This authentic Italian restaurant is family owned and offers an experience to enjoy. They offer pizzas by the slice too around an average of $3.00.
Rosati’s Pizza (Connect Route 22)
They offer the popular Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. They’re a franchise, but they’ve been “keeping it real since 1964.” They have amazing pizza whether you want it to go or come in and sit down to enjoy.
Their menu consists of wings, salads, pastas, sandwiches, dinners, appetizers and desserts. They are located in the Vista Ridge Plaza with prices starting at $11.99.
Cavalli Pizza (Connect Routes 21 and 22)
Founded by a family of first-generation Americans from Italy, “Cavalli is so good it’s certified!” Their Neapolitan-style pizza is hand tossed and made to order. They offer s’mores and Nutella pizzas for anyone out there who has a sweet tooth. A small pizza starts off at $8.00.
Highland Village
Grimaldi’s (Highland Village Community on Demand or Lyft Discount Program)
Talk about taste buds! With pizza names like “Rosemary Potatoes Pizza,” it’s a wonder what else could come out of this family started business. They have a “secret recipe” dough hand-tossed and made in house daily. This Brooklyn-based pizzeria chain is located in the Shops at Highland Village.
Palio’s Pizza Café (Highland Village Community on Demand or Lyft Discount Program)
Palio’s is a kid-friendly pizza chain presenting thin-crust pizza and pasta dishes. Their food is made from scratch daily, and they even have healthy choices to pick from on their menu such as pineapple and vegetable pizzas. They are conveniently located near the Marketplace at Highland Village.
