Best of Series – Top Earth Day Events to Attend

As many of you know, Earth Day is on Sunday, April 22 this year! What can you do to get involved you ask? We’ve found a few events that you don’t want to miss. Whether you are going to learn about ways to help your environment, purchase ecofriendly items, eat sustainable foods, or whatever you decide to take part in during these events; you’ll doing a small part to help our environment!

EarthFest
EarthFest will take place on Thursday, April 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the University of North Texas (UNT) Library Mall. There will be live entertainment, local vendors, student organizations, food and educational activities. The menu will include sustainable food items and vegan options. To get this fun event, hop on our Denton Connect Bus Service routes 7 or 8 to be dropped off at UNT.
Earth X
Don’t miss out on the world’s largest eco expo located at Fair Park on Friday, April 20, through Sunday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.! Earth X will feature several exhibitors, non-profits, businesses, academic institutions and government agencies all joining together to raise environmental consciousness. In addition, you’ll have a chance to hear guest speakers, see demonstrations and films. To get to this event, simply take our A-train from any station closest to you to the Trinity Mills station, which will connect you to the DART Green Line that will drop you off right at Fair Park! Denton Redbud Festival
This family-friendly event is hosted by Keep Denton Beautiful and occurs on Saturday, April 21, at the Denton Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Denton Redbud Festival will feature vendors, plant sales, booths and workshops. There will also be fun activities such as a face painting, bounce houses, environmental activities and more. This event will also include a stage with live music. To attend this fun event, hop on our Denton Connect Bus Service routes 4, 5, or 6.
TRASHion Fashion
The 7th annual TRASHion Fashion show will be held at the Denton Civic Center during the Denton Redbud Festival at Saturday, April 21, at noon. This event is hosted by SCRAP Denton, which includes a fun twist of turning trash into fashion pieces to promote reuse, recycle and art! To get to this fun event, hop on our Denton Connect Bus Service routes 4, 5, or 6.
Garden Secrets Series: Container Gardening
This event hosted by Keep Lewisville Beautiful occurs on Thursday, April 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. To participate in this event, head over to Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater. Don’t miss out, admission is FREE! At the Container Gardening Secrets Series you will learn how to prepare a container, mix soil, and select the best plants for each container. To attend this fun event, hop on Lewisville Connect Bus Service route 22.
